Area of BrajBraj Foundation is dedicated to the all round development of Braj - the culturally vibrant region associated with the legend of Sri Radha-Krishna, one of the most celebrated divine couples in Hindu mythology. ‘Braj’ spans across three States of modern India; Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, portions of Bharatpur district of Rajasthan and Faridabad district of Haryana.

The Foundation’s efforts, which began with restoration of age old water retention tanks, commonly called ‘kund’s, have now spread to the revival of ‘sacred’ groves or ‘van’s, regeneration of around 18000 acres of hilly terrain or ‘Parvat’s into lush-green pasture lands,  and resurrection of River Yamuna. Simultaneously, the Foundation is making several interventions in areas like organic farming, dairy industry, rural education, employment etc. towards the realization of its broader mandate; to reinstate Braj as an ideal rural society.

“The cities, the cultured lands nor the villages their houses are ours, we are the
forest people dear father, we always live in the forests and on the hills."

70 year old revolutionary saint Sri Ramesh Baba of Gahvarvan, Barsana (Mathura), is the inspiration and driving force behind The Braj Foundation's crusuading efforts to save the sacred environment of Braj from brutual destruction. A profound scholar, Baba says that Lord Krishna was the biggest environmentalist and thereby it becomes the duty of His devotees to restore and preserve the ecology of Braj - Krishna's eternal abode. Baba has revived the age old Braj Mandal yatra which has been mentioned by historians and scholars in ancient texts with the sole objective of making the people aware of the invaluable assets that exist in the form of the natural environment in the Braj region.Baba's main objective is to rejuvenate and revive the glories of Sri Sri Radha Krishna and to preserve their leela sthalis. His lectures and sermons are rich in traditional wisdom and spiritual insights and attract people and devotees from all corners of the world.
