Shri M V Nair, CMD Union Bank Of India has donated one tractor trolley to the Foundation which has been a boon for our field operations. Tractor trolleys are essential equipments for our field operations. For desilting one kund we need at least four tractor trolleys.
Indian Oil Corporation Limited
Shri S Behuria, Chairman of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) generously supported the Foundation in reviving Gahvarvan – one of the twelve major forests of Braj. A drip irrigation facility has also been installed to ensure perennial water supply to the plants and trees. Intensive plantation has been done, and the grove now stands out as a lush green oasis. The entire work was carried with the much valued administrative support from the UP forest department and the District administration.
BAIF, Pune
Pune based NGO BAIF, chaired by our supporter Shri Arvind Bhai Mafatlal, has been closely working with the Foundation to carry out an extensive survey of the 137 sacred groves of the Braj region. Till now they have completed detailed surveys of 26 major groves and collected rich data on the size, location, revenue record, available sources of irrigation, cultural history and significance, and so on.
Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB)
The OIDB has financially supported the drinking water supply to Chiksoli and Manpur villages project of the Braj Foundation. The project involved digging a borewell and construction of two water tanks with a capacity of 1.15 litres each. Further, heavy duty pumps and distribution pipeline have been laid out in the villages.
Nicholas Piramal Group
Brahma Kund near Rangnathji temple in Vrindavan had become a garbage dump for local municipality. This historic kund is being restored by the Foundation with financial assistance from Mr. Ajay Piramal, MD, Nicholas Piramal Group, Mumbai. The Foundation plans to design the kund as an eight petal lotus flower with a fountain and deity of lord Brahma in the centre.
In the past Mr. Piramal had generously donated field survey equipment including a Tata Sumo vehicle, laptop, survey machines, and camera to the Braj Foundation.
Mr. Rajan Sanghi, Shri Krishna Group
Mr. Sanghi donated a Brand New Toyota Qualis in the year 2004 to the Foundation. The value of the vehicle is Rs.6.4 Lakhs. He has also sponsored the payment of Rs. 86,000 to NRSA, National Remote Sensing Agency, Hyderabad for the satellite images of the hills of Braj. He is constantly spreading the good work being done by the foundation amongst his batch mates and other prominent industrialist of Jaipur and in other parts of the country. Mr. Sanghi has been lending invaluable advice and expertise to the Foundation towards their hill regeneration program and has contributed significantly towards fruitful planning and research in the area. |
